Gary & Rochelle Herge's 2002 TJ
I started my venture into off roading when I bought my ' 02 TJ. It wasn't long after that I met fellow member Dave Norwood while camping and he invited me to the JJ rally. That set it all in motion after attending the rally. The building process began. I first installed a Rubicon 4 1/2" Super Flex Short Arm lift, ARB Old Man Emu Shocks, 33 X 10.5 BFG Mud Terrain T/A tires, Warn Front Bumper with a Warn XD 9000I Winch and Warn Bull Bar. Next I installed a Durango Rear Bumper with Swing Out Tire holder and Hi-Lift Jack Stand, Warn Rocker Panels, Warn Steering Box cover, Warn Diff. Plates, Toys by Troy Gas Tank Skid plate, Toys by Troy Oil Pan Skid. Plate and Euro Guard Rear Corner Panel Guards. Then came the Airaid Air intake System and Filter. I installed the Toys by Troy Sports Bar Roll cage. Then Leonard's Off Road installed 4:56 gears and F/R ARB Air Lockers, he also welded skid plates on the front Control Arm mounts and finally installed JKS Disconnects. I ran this for about a year. I recently upgraded to a Rubicon 4/1/2" Long Arm kit, converted my rear drum brakes over to the TeraFlex Disk Brake kit and changed my stock steering system over to U-Turn Steering System. I run a Dana 30 in the front and a Dana 44 in the rear. I find that off roading is a real stress relief for me and it gives me good Quality family time. I enjoy the friendship and fellowship I get from being a member of the Jolly Jeepers. I have become very active in the club and with the issues we work on trying to help maintain our sport. Remember to Tread Lightly, Stay on the Trails and don't Litter. It is up to all of us to Police our sport so that we can enjoy it for years to come.
